Mike Brown elected to Chair our Shareholders’ Committee

Mike Brown CBE MVO has been elected to serve as chair of our Shareholders’ Committee.

Consisting of 19 senior employee shareholders, the Shareholders’ Committee provides oversight of, and challenge and support to, our executive board. It also advises on key issues and approves significant business decisions and actions.

Mike takes on the role as chair of the Shareholders’ Committee, effective 1 January, 2024, following David White’s four-year tenure in the post.

Mike has extensive experience of infrastructure industry leadership, particularly across transportation and construction. He was appointed as an independent member of the Shareholders’ Committee in 2020.

Prior to joining our business, he was commissioner for Transport for London with responsibility for overseeing all public transport in the capital, including managing a multi-billion-pound capital investment programme. He also previously served as managing director of Heathrow Airport.

In addition to his role here, Mike is chair of the Restoration & Renewal Delivery Authority for the Houses of Parliament. He is also chair of the Railways Safety and Standards Board, and serves as a board member of Translink, the public transport operator for Northern Ireland.
