Celebrating 25 years in Edinburgh with business expansion

Mott MacDonald has relocated its team in Edinburgh to support business growth in the region. Scotland forms an important part of its operations, with 900 people based across its Scottish offices, and 160 of those in Edinburgh. The move to bigger offices strengthens its commitment to the city and its presence in the wider region and nationally.

The new office is at the heart of the city and will allow even greater collaboration with clients across multiple sectors including transport, water, health, buildings, environment and energy.

MSP and Scottish public finance minister Ivan McKee, who joined a celebration evening with colleagues, partners and clients, said: “I was pleased to attend the opening of Mott MacDonald’s office in Edinburgh. The company’s expansion and growth demonstrate confidence in the future demand for engineering consultancy services across Scotland, which will support the Scottish Government’s just transition to net zero.”

Mark Ewen, managing director, buildings at Mott MacDonald said: “Our people continue to deliver the high-quality infrastructure and services required to support a flourishing, prosperous and sustainable Scotland. Laying even deeper roots in Edinburgh is an important show of support to a fantastically vibrant city that actively seeks to be at the cutting edge of what is possible”.

As Mott MacDonald marks 25 years in the city, it can celebrate the benefits it has delivered for the people of Edinburgh through projects including the Ocean Terminal and Edinburgh Tram, Edinburgh Gateway, Queensferry High School, Water of Leith Flood Protection Scheme and Murrayfield Stadium.

As part of wider team in Scotland, working with colleagues in Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness and Lerwick, Mott MacDonald has also delivered projects of national significance including; work for Scottish Futures Trust on the Net Zero Building Standard; the Moray Hydrogen Strategy; the Clyde Metro, Glasgow City Council Net Zero Route Map; plus an array of work for Scottish Government on its decarbonisation programmes.

Mott MacDonald has recently been appointed for the dualling work on the A9, a critical route to Inverness, while also having an exclusive partnership with the City of Edinburgh Council for both bridges and flood management. It continues to support Network Rail with the critical electrification and de-carbonisation of its network in Scotland.
