We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer with experience in municipal water and wastewater treatment. This a fantastic professional opportunity for driven individuals to work on a uniquely wide range of water related projects in the UK. As part of our team, you will be able to make a difference by designing cutting-edge water and wastewater treatment plant upgrades to deliver efficient engineering solutions for our clients and communities. 

 

Job description: 
In this role, you will:

  • Provide technical process expertise and leadership across our programmes of water and wastewater treatment works engineering designs,
  • Perform feasibility, outline, and detailed process design, including mass, heat, and energy balances, process flow diagrams, and P&IDs, 
  • Work closely with other disciplines, contributing to plant and equipment specifications, design risk assessments, control philosophies, and cost and program estimates,
  • Write technical reports to clearly communicate our findings and recommendations. 
  • Develop and nurture sound relationships with our clients, working closely to agree the most appropriate solutions. 


Candidate specification: 

We are looking for a driven individual, keen to make a difference in the sector, take wide responsibilities and progress professionally.

Required skills and experience:

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering field. 
  • Chartered Status (CEng),or working towards Chartered Status with a recognised Professional Institution.
  • Detailed understanding of water and/or wastewater treatment process technologies.
  • Experience in water/wastewater treatment process engineering design using appropriate calculation tools. 
  • Experience in multidisciplinary outline, feasibility and detailed design within the UK water sector. 
  • Excellent technical report writing skills using concise English.
  • Strong communication skills with experience in effective collaboration across internal multi-disciplinary teams as well as Client teams.
  • Self-motivated and effective team player.
  • Desire to take a leading role with client engagement on process engineering needs in the UK.
  • Drive to keep abreast of professional development and knowledge of current and emerging technical solutions.
  • Ability to travel to other offices and sites, as required.

 

Desirable:

  • Track record in conducting water and/or wastewater treatment plant and process root-cause analysis reviews.
  • Awareness of using wastewater modelling tools such as SUMO and BioWin. 
  • Awareness of process safety techniques such as HAZOP / HAZID / DSEAR. 
  • Understanding of key water sector treatment and sustainability needs
  • Understanding of drivers for wastewater treatment investment in England and Wales.
