Job Description

We are looking for a CIPD chartered (or equivalent) HR professional to undertake a business partnering role.  You will be working as part of the HR team to deliver on the people agenda and play a vital role in developing relationships with key stakeholders as well as leading on exciting projects.

 

Your main responsibilities will be:

 

Stakeholder management:

  • A HR business partner approach working with key stakeholders supporting one of our divisions in the transport sector
  • Working in partnership with the business, provide advice, guidance and lead on all employee matters.
  • Building strong and sustainable relationships using effective communication skills and professional advice, being visible, accessible, and remaining delivery focussed.
  • Act as the critical friend to key stakeholders and build confidence to become involved in people related decisions at a divisional level.

 

Advisory and operational activities

  • Using a coaching style to support more junior members of the HR community and the business managers in operational activities enabling them to take the lead in managing their people.
  • Fully experienced in employment relations with confidence to ensure all HR matters are handled promptly, fairly, and consistently in line with legal and company requirements.
  • Provide robust advice on all HR issues, policies, terms and conditions of employment and employment / immigration legislation.
  • Regularly review salaries against the internal and external benchmark data and make recommendations to the divisional exec for addressing any anomalies.
  • Lead the bonus and salary review process for the division, analysing data and reviewing trends as required.
  • Evaluate the senior promotions and appointments process in the division and support the bi-annual process (reviewing scorecards and papers)
  • Work with the division to mitigate risk and provide challenge, advice and guidance accordingly.

 

Strategic HR

  • Support the delivery of the people strategy at divisional level, including employee engagement, talent management and succession planning.
  • Proactively deliver our EDI and wellbeing strategy at a divisional level.

 

Compliance

  • Comply with Data Protection and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and ensure the security of employee information in accordance with legislation and best practice.
  • Identify and respond to compliance matters in line with HR procedures and ensure that all operational aspect of compliance reporting are addressed.

 

Other

  • Provide cover for the team during periods of annual leave and during peaks in workload.
  • Support with the provision of workshops to upskill and develop the HR community in the unit and across the region.
  • Support regional or Group projects as and when required.
  • To build good working relationships and networks across the business and the wider HR community

 

Candidate Specification

  • You will be CIPD chartered (or equivalent).
  • Will possess well developed leadership capability in executing unit or regional projects.
  • You will have well-developed interpersonal skills and an ability to build strong relationships with HR colleagues across the Group and other stakeholders.
  • You will have excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Can demonstrate strong organisational skills and exhibit excellent attention to detail.
  • You will have excellent knowledge of HR practices and policies as well as Employment legislation.
  • Will have a good understanding of analytics and translate key metrics into outcomes.
  • Adept in the use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

 

Desirable

  • Commercial acumen and experience in an engineering or consultancy environment
  • Experience of delivering value add initiatives/projects e.g., EDI, STEM, engagement etc
  • Experience with Power BI and/or SAP (Success Factors)
  • Experience of non-UK HR activities and legislation.
