Mott MacDonald is looking to welcome a Electrical Engineer to support our team from one of these office locations: Pensacola, FL, Jacksonville, FL, Tampa, FL, Orlando, FL, West Monroe, LA, Atlanta, GA, and Raleigh, NC. You’ll work alongside an experienced and knowledgeable team of engineers, designers, and project managers. The environment is one of challenge, collaboration, and client focus, with regular staff education and social activities opportunities.
Working with a team of Engineers and Designers, your responsibilities will include:
Providing engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of project challenges.
Providing electrical design support for Mott MacDonald’s design projects during construction, (such as addressing contractor RFIs, submittals, etc.), and providing technical reviews and comments on designs completed by others, as applicable.
Providing conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design deliverables, including but not limited to: drawings, technical specifications, opinions of probable construction costs, construction schedules, etc.
Effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities
Preparation of thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches
Continuous improvement of job-related, engineering technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and performance
Development of effective oral and written communication skills
Maintaining accurate records and files
Supporting the company’s goals and representing the company positively and professionally
We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:
Successfully completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, from an ABET accredited program
PE licensure in the State of Florida is required, or ability to obtain with 3 months
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the field of Electrical Engineering, background from water/wastewater infrastructure, vertical facilities, energy, transportation, and oil & gas projects
Experience in the electrical and controls systems design for process and pumping systems is desired
Experience in designs for water/wastewater:
Low & medium voltage distribution systems
Automated Control Systems
SCADA communication systems
Required Code and Standard Knowledge: NEC, IES, NFPA 70E, IEEE Color Book Series
Required Software Capabilities: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, SKM or ETAP, Computer Based Lighting Software
Strong interpersonal skills
Comfortable working in a team environment and directing/managing the work completed by others, including subconsultant team members
Organized and a self-starter
Effective in both verbal and written communications
