Principal Structural Engineer (Buildings)

Mott MacDonald is a global engineering, management, and development consultancy. We are well-established in Malaysia and currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven Principal Structural Engineer to join our Buildings sector in our Kuala Lumpur office.

We are looking for candidates with strong technical skills, creative problem-solving abilities, and a passion for engineering excellence.

The candidate shall be engaged in delivery design, submission, construction support, as-build and completion of our projects. Their other duties include:

• Undertake detailed design in foundation, concrete and steelworks structures.
• Develop design concepts and construction methodologies and provide leadership in sectional project execution.
• Provide design sketches and reports required for schematic, design development and constructions phases of projects.
• Provide detailed engineering computations and analysis as required for the statutory submission.
• Attending technical / progress meeting with clients and inspections during construction.

Candidate Specification:

About You:

• Degree of B Eng (Civil) recognised by Professional Engineering Board (Malaysia).
• Minimum 8 years post graduate experience with consultant background in Civil and/or Structural Engineering.
• Proficient in 3D design programmes i.e. Robot, TSD, SAP 2000, STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAFE etc.
• Experience with complex structural design.
• Familiar with the latest international codes of practice (Singapore Code, Eurocode etc).
• Familiar with Revit and delivering projects in BIM.
• Willing to mentor junior colleagues.
