Key Responsibilities:

As a Principal Project Manager with a focus on project pursuits and delivery, you will be responsible for positioning for, winning, and delivery oversight of transportation projects within defined budgets, timelines, and quality standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, architects, and stakeholders, to ensure project objectives are met and client expectations are exceeded.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support Project Managers and Task Leads to develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and budget allocation, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify project resource requirements and allocate them effectively, considering skills, availability, and budget constraints.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Monitor risks throughout the project lifecycle and take proactive measures to minimize their impact.
  • Provide oversight to Project Managers and Task Leads in monitoring project finances, tracking expenses, and ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints. Provide regular financial reports to stakeholders.
  • Foster effective communication channels among team members and stakeholders. Prepare and deliver progress reports, project updates, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and manage project changes, including scope variations, timeline adjustments, and resource reallocations. Assess the impact of changes on project objectives and communicate effectively with all parties involved.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to project team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Ensure team members understand their roles, responsibilities, and project goals.
  • Conduct project evaluations upon completion, capturing lessons learned, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing best practices for future projects.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in delivering transportation projects, specifically in the engineering or construction industry. Demonstrated experience in successfully delivering complex engineering projects is required.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams. Experience in resolving conflicts and overcoming challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address project-related challenges proactively.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
