The Designer is a mid level position with a higher level of experience in design and management, with the ability to function as a Project Lead for small to large capital projects. The role of a designer is also expected to have the capabilities of managing direct reports while also acting as the lead on multiple projects. Skills required include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Exceptional written and verbal skills
  • Have a full understanding of the Internet and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Have a full understanding of basic AutoCAD.
  • Have a full understanding of Mott MacDonald drafting standards.
  • Able to read and modify Process Flow Diagrams & Piping and Instrument Diagrams drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Have a full understanding of how to annotate the following drawings using AutoCAD.
      • Cover Sheets & Index
      • Site Plans
      • Piping Plans
      • Sections & Details
      • Bill of Materials
      • Isometric Drawings
  • Have a full understanding of what drawings are required for each issuance.
  • Able to model equipment in CADWorx.
  • Have a full understanding of elevation and coordinate systems, both plant and world. 
  • Able to update models from survey points.
  • Have a full understanding of equipment that is needed and why we need them meter stations.
  • Launcher/Receiver
      • Filters
      • Meters
      • Regulators
      • Condensate tanks
      • Heaters
  • What type are required to make the equipment work.
  • Have the ability to lay out a complete site.
  • Have a detailed understanding of ASME Codes.
  • Have a detailed understanding material description.
  • Have a detailed understanding of pressure, wall thickness, grades, and pipe classes.
  • Able to edit and create ISOGEN specs.
  • Able to edit and create CADWorxs specs.
  • Able to check a complete package before issuance.
  • Able to teach and mentor individuals.

 

Have a detailed understanding of:

  • Equipment that is needed and why we need them meter stations.
  • Pumps
  • Compressor (Both Recep and Turbine)
  • What type are required to make the equipment work.

 

Piping different process included but are not limited to the following:

      • Liquid Gas Piping
      • Steam Piping
      • Power Gas Piping
      • Lube oil Piping
      • Glycol Piping
      • EDS Piping
      • Air Piping
  • Able to work directly with Clients and communicate needs to the project manager and other staff.
  • Able to delegate work while managing several projects.

 

 

We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design 
  • 6+ years’ experience in design and construction of pipelines and facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and work with multidisciplinary teams, deal with complex issues and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Experience with client interaction and ability to excel in a client-facing role. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
