About the role

Mott MacDonald are currently looking to recruit an Account Leader  (Director) - Sports and Events to focus on developing and driving our focus around major events in Saudi Arabia. The role will focus on developing existing and securing new opportunities with our portfolio of Sports and Events accounts in KSA. It will require leveraging the Mott MacDonald’s global and regional knowledge and expertise on opportunities and projects within Saudi Arabia. This person will also be responsible for ensuring that current and future projects are delivered in accordance with Client and Mott MacDonald requirements for quality and safety. 

 

As well as being a technical leader in the field you will demonstrate strong strategic business development and commercial acumen, with a focus on delivery of excellence and an ability to develop high profile relationships. You will have significant experience in advisory, planning, design and development of Sports and Events projects.

 

Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:

  • Provide insight into existing and potential new clients and lead the business development and capture activities relating to Sports and Events clients.
  • Take the principal account leader role on Sports and Events clients in the Saudi Arabia.
  • Develop targeted client relationships in conjunction with the relevant Account Leader network. 
  • Be able to work with leading architects, developers, operators and management consultants to develop world class solutions and embed Mott MacDonald as their consultant of choice.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the market, help capture new opportunities, direct the bid process liaising with development teams and relevant location country managers to ensure we produce powerful, attractive, compliant and competitive proposals.
  • Deliver existing Sports & Events projects and build on existing relationships in the Sports & Events industry.
  • Demonstrate technical leadership in the application of Sports & Events advisory, planning and engineering.
  • Lead the Sports & Events practice within Saudi Arabia and participate and contribute to the global practice network ensuring that the practice feels and operates like an inclusive, welcoming community by driving integration and collaboration across geographical and organizational boundaries..
  • Act as the Technical Lead on Venues/Sports projects that are delivered in Saudi Arabia. 
  • Engage with the Middle East market in thought leadership for innovative solutions.
  • Drive the development of the team and support the recruitment process

 

Candidate specifications

  • Demonstrable track record in winning and delivering work for key Sports & Events clients in KSA or Middle East Region
  • Recognition within the industry as an innovator and technical leader
  • Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline preferably professional chartered status
  • Extensive years of experience operating at this level
  • Proven track record in growing and developing a team
  • Proven negotiating and influencing skills
  • Proven Client relationship management experience
