With a significant presence in California, we're looking to welcome an in house construction inspector to our South West Division. Joining our Los Angeles office, the successful in house construction inspector will have 10-15 years of experience in construction inspection of water and wastewater treatment plant, pipeline, and pump station projects. Experience with microfiltration and reverse osmosis processes is preferred. They will assist with maintenance of in-house standard operating procedures and training programs related to construction management and inspection.
Responsibilities may include, but may not be limited to:
- Providing General Inspector support for the construction of water and wastewater facilities, pumping stations, pipelines and related projects located within the Los Angeles County, Ventura, Orange, Riverside, and San Diego area
- Performing a broad cross-section of complex technical and administrative activities requiring extensive experience and specialization in Contract Compliance, Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) inspection of mechanical processes and related construction work
- Analyzing applicable codes, standards and project contract documents and monitors construction activities to ensure compliance with contract documents
- Interpreting or clarifying contract documents for Contractors
- Maintaining or preparing a variety of records, including daily/weekly progress reports, material accounting records, change orders and record drawings
- Reviewing new projects for constructability and preparing monthly progress payment quantities/requests
- Performing and/or evaluating tests and inspections, and other methods of verification as specified
- Monitoring contractors' compliance with approved Quality Control Plan
- Making recommendations for improvements to standard construction QC provisions as they apply in the field; assuring compliance with approved submittals
Requirements:
- 10-15 years minimum experience with inspection or Apprentice/Journeyman experience in construction
- Experience documenting installation of work and contractor's performance
- Experience with American National Standards Institute, (ANSI) American Concrete Institute (ACI), American Welding Society (AWS), and other applicable codes
- A valid California State driver's license
- Good communications oral and written skills
- Microsoft word and excel
Preferred qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in construction inspection of water/wastewater treatment plant projects with microfiltration and reverse osmosis processes
- An AA degree related to Engineering or Construction Management Program
- Experience using Primavera, Suretrack, MS Project
- ACI, ICBO/ICC, City Deputy Inspector, AWS, OSHA, NICET certifications
Salary Range: $51/hr-$70/hr
