About the business unit:
The Buildings and Cities Unit (BNC) has a major presence in Mott MacDonald's regional offices throughout the UK and mainland Europe, providing a wide range of diverse and transferable cross-sector skills across five key Sectors; Advisory, Built Environment, Energy, Transportation and Water. We also provide local services to customers and technical leadership to the rest of the Group in these sectors. 

 

About the role:
We are looking for an Associate Architect to join our growing Architecture team. The architecture team is part of the Buildings and Cities unit within Mott MacDonald and provides services at all RIBA stages on a wide variety of projects. We have a diverse portfolio of interesting projects in most building typologies where we work with clients across UK, Ireland, Europe and globally and at all RIBA Work Stages. This is an opportunity for an Associate Architect to join our team in the Birmingham office, to help develop and grow the team.  


About you:
You’ll be a part of a growing UK wide architectural team, coordinating proactively with other engineering disciplines as well as running projects autonomously. We are seeking a candidate who is proactive, able to lead and build a team, and is looking for a new challenge to grow their career. You will work at both local level and UK wide within the architecture team and will be given the opportunity to develop your skills in design, project running, technical detailing, BIM and management duties. 

 

Requirements: 
The successful candidate will be degree qualified or equivalent in architecture with work experience within an Architectural Practice or similar environment and have extensive experience of running projects. The candidate will be creative with a keen eye for detail, possess excellent technical knowledge and have strong project running and people management skills. The role will also involve working with the senior management team and to get involved in the future growth of the business, whilst taking on management duties. 

 

  • Post part 3 / Qualified Architect with ARB registration 
  • Post qualification experience 
  • Ability to deliver projects from a design and technical background 
  • Experience of project delivery in the United Kingdom 
  • Experience in Education, Aviation, Industrial, Transportation and Justice & Correctional projects would be beneficial but not essential 
  • Experience of working with Revit and BIM 
  • Should have a genuine interest in Architecture and the Built Environment and be aware of relevant current technical building legislation and guidance such as Building Regulations and British Standards 
  • Should be prepared to work on multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Be a team leader with ability to manage a small team and build a team of architects and support staff
