Job Description

The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, thermal, waste, renewable generation, and transmission & distribution networks. Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension. Together with our clients, we’re helping to deliver the energy transition globally.

 

Our Transmission & Distribution team provides Cable Engineering expertise for a wide variety of projects at all voltage levels for distribution and transmission systems in the UK and abroad.  The role will span a diverse portfolio of work and there will be opportunities for advancement within the team.

As a Graduate Electrical Engineer in this team, you’ll be working on HV cable system projects
and supporting the other engineers on a variety of tasks, including:

 

  • All aspects of cable system design
  • Project Management
  • Proposal Writing
  • Scheme Costings
  • Front End Engineering Design (FEED)
  • Supporting with the preparation of drawings e.g. planning applications and tender packages
  • Preparation of Specifications
  • Onshore and offshore work

To be eligible for this opportunity, you will have less than 12 months relevant experience (excluding placements), have a degree or are expected to achieve one in electrical engineering, or a similar subject.

In your application you should be able to demonstrate your interest in the role and working at Mott MacDonald through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience.

 

We are looking for graduates with the following characteristics:

 

  • Methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
