Biography

Stephen joined Mott MacDonald in 2016 in our Abu Dhabi office, where he established and grew the successful Middle East land development team providing cradle to grave planning, engineering design, and construction management services for some of the largest development projects in the world. Based in Los Angeles since June 2021, he established and now leads Mott MacDonald's North America buildings practice, which includes the building structures, building services/MEP, building sciences and sustainability, and architecture disciplines.

Stephen has broad experience as a project director and technical lead on infrastructure projects in the fields of buildings, transit-oriented development, sustainability, master planning, land development, infrastructure, and transportation. 

Currently, Stephen is the technical lead for the business case for the Diridon Station development in San Jose, which aims to create “the Grand Central Station of the West”. Other projects he has led include concept design for the first NetZero Water and Energy HQ building in the Middle East; leading the development of the 6.4-million-acre NEOM regional plan and The Line, a linear megacity in northwestern Saudi Arabia; and developing the feasibility study, design, and transportation hubs for a number of innovative transportation systems.
