Biography

Stephen joined Mott MacDonald in 1990 and has 30 years’ experience working in transport engineering with international experience in planning for public transport systems, including metro, heavy rail, light rapid transit, tram, bus rapid transit and innovative systems.

His career has had a focus on supporting the lives and livelihoods of people in cities and communities by developing transport solutions to deliver wider societal outcomes, improve inclusivity, and create fulfilling city environments together with responding to wider trends including decarbonisation, energy transition and transitions towards wellbeing economies.

This has included supporting the development of projects such as Brisbane Metro, Gold Coast Light Rail and Melbourne Metro in Australia, Bus Rapid Transit Projects in some of South Africa’s major conurbations, light rail development in The Gulf and more recently Clyde Metro and West Yorkshire Mass Transit in the UK.
