Biography

Simon Critten is the regional energy market leader for North America. A big picture thinker, he specializes in making the connections needed to help clients and their projects succeed.

Simon has over 25 years of public and private sector experience focused on the development and implementation of energy and sustainability related projects around the globe. He has a passion for the evolution of energy systems alongside the development of infrastructure that will support society now and into the future. He has been involved with many forms of low carbon and renewable energy projects in both the electrons and molecules sectors and their application throughout infrastructure.  

With experience in assessing, developing, and implementing energy and carbon management strategies cutting across the transport, buildings, water, and energy markets, Simon brings together theory and practical solutions to provide valuable insights throughout many levels of decision-making.

Simon is an active member of the Energy Industry Council (EIC) North American Advisory Board; a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce; and is a frequent public speaker at conferences, roundtables, and industry events. In 2024, Simon helped Mott MacDonald win the EIC’s prestigious World Energy Supply Chain Award for Technology and Energy Transition.
