Richard Risdon
Biography
Richard was appointed to the Executive Board in January 2025 and combines this with leading our UK and Europe region where he is responsible for teams delivering projects across a range of sectors and clients.
He brings his passion for improving health and safety, strong client relationships, good collaboration and positive employee development to everything he does. His client-centred approach is built on developing client empathy – truly understanding client’s challenges from their perspective in order to deliver the best outcomes for the communities they serve.
Having studied civil engineering at Leeds Metropolitan University, Richard’s sector speciality is water and he gained over 25 years’ experience in that industry before taking on leadership of our UK and Europe business in 2022.
Richard joined JN Bentley in 1999 and was appointed to the board in 2013 after undertaking a variety of roles across the business including operational delivery and health and safety. When JN Bentley was acquired by Mott MacDonald in 2014, Richard worked to form Mott MacDonald Bentley Contracting (MMBC), where he was head of operations.
