What do you enjoy about working here?

I like the working environment here. Colleagues and the way we work are a big factor in this. There is always a project plan or workflow that we follow and this is helpful to know what work is required.

Tell us about your specialism and why you chose it

I have a civil engineering background, but over time have become a technical advisor whilst also developing my commercial expertise. Technical advisory is something I ended up doing because it was more suitable with my personal characteristics and made me feel more productive in business life. Additionally, I like to work with the clients, understand their expectations on their projects and fulfil what is needed from my end.

Why did you choose Mott MacDonald as a company you wanted to be part of?

Previous to starting here, I was working for a client where Mott MacDonald was the technical advisor to us. I had chance to meet different colleagues from the business and I was inspired by their expertise and professionalism. A position opened up relating to technical advisory, so having had such a positive experience working with Mott MacDonald on client side, I applied and was accepted for the job.

How has your career progressed since joining? / How has Mott MacDonald invested in your career?

Since joining in 2014, I have worked on large infrastructure and superstructure projects as a technical advisor. More recently in 2022, I took on a more commercial role supporting international projects. During my time here, I have had a range of training opportunities to improve my skills and support my development.

What have you learnt while working at Mott MacDonald?

My learning has been really broad. Focussed specifically on technical advisory, visiting and monitoring large scale projects both in construction and operation stages has expanded my learning in the field and improved my technical knowledge.

I also feel my soft skills have improved through experience and training. It’s been great to advance my client relation skills and be involved in many proposals; this experience is very transferable across the business.
