What do you enjoy about working here?

The diversity in my role, awareness that I’m part of something greater than my individual responsibilities, and the collaborative team I work with all contribute to my job satisfaction. Tell us about your specialism and why you chose it

As a civil engineering graduate, I stumbled into the water sector thanks to some connections who encouraged me to apply for a role. However, I quickly recognised the immense value and the positive impact I could have in this world-changing field that benefits us all.

What kind of career support have you received since joining?

I’ve been fortunate to work with excellent line managers and mentors from various parts of the business. They’ve guided me in different areas of development throughout my career. Additionally, Mott MacDonald offers internal career development training tailored to different career stages and roles. These programmes have supported my growth, helped identify areas for improvement, and equipped me with valuable skills and tools to excel in my job.

What are your career highlights and achievements?

I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with colleagues who’ve dedicated decades to the water sector, some even spending their entire careers at Mott MacDonald. These interactions have been both encouraging and challenging - pushing me to contribute more, step out of my comfort zone, and focus on developing the next generation.

How do you demonstrate Technical Excellence in your work?

While my day-to-day responsibilities don’t directly involve technical aspects, our clients seek our expertise. As a leader in our water business, it’s my responsibility to grasp our existing services, stay informed about market trends, and anticipate client needs. This knowledge informs our business planning and ensures future Technical Excellence.
