Biography

What do you enjoy about working here?

Every project I work on combines a different team of people, and they are always good company. There is a persistent culture of supporting each other, and enjoying what we do, which I think must be very rare.

I also love that we strive for excellence in how we deliver projects, and have a tendency to really buy into the aims of the project. I love that mix of a strong team culture and a drive for Technical Excellence.

Tell us about your specialism and why you chose it

In my work I have led the delivery of projects in the UK and internationally, for flood defence, irrigation and water supply. I chose to work on large dam and river engineering projects because it allows me to be involved in work that really makes a difference to people and the environment. It’s great to see how the role I play can change the outcomes for people and the environment in a positive, meaningful way.

Why did you choose Mott MacDonald as a company you wanted to be part of?

When I joined back in 2001, I just knew I wanted to be part of a large multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy with opportunities to work in international development, and with opportunities to take on many varied new challenges. Mott MacDonald offers this. I have stayed because I have found that the core values of the company align with my own personal values.

How do you contribute to Mott MacDonald making a difference to people and planet?

In my work supporting the development of reservoirs, we focus on delivering the best possible outcomes for people and the environment. Our approach to this is by instilling a collaborative, supportive culture throughout the design teams and I ensure I role model a close working relationship with the environment and stakeholder teams.
