I have a passion for sustainability and the planet we live on. Through my work I want to leave the world in a better place than we currently find it and offer future generations the chance to enjoy our brilliant planet in a sustainable way.
Carbon management can mean a variety of things to our clients. I work directly on net zero transformation projects, carbon accounting, business change and all-round sustainability. It may sound cliché, but no day is the same!
I wanted to join a company which aligned with my values, especially around sustainability and the environment – Mott MacDonald certainly practices as they preach.
When I first joined the business, I had not worked in the consultancy sector before, so I have had to quickly learn how to balance multiple clients and projects at the same time. It’s a good challenge to have and I find it rewarding to work on different projects at the same time. It’s important to manage your diary!
I have had the chance to travel abroad with work to Paris and Amsterdam. More locally, we have offices in many UK cities, so I have also visited lots of places throughout the country.
My proudest achievement to date is achieving my chartered environmentalist status with the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA). It was the culmination of years of work, and it feels fantastic to be recognised externally.
