Biography

Describe what the Mott Mac Life means to you in three words

Opportunity, transform and growth

Tell us about your specialism and why you chose it

My father is my inspiration. He was a civil engineer and from his experience I saw how his role helped develop our country, and this inspired me to choose to pursue civil and structural engineering.

Throughout my career I have worked on a range of rail projects. This work has involved doing structural analysis and design for underground station, entrances and tunnels, as well as having greater project responsibilities on some and helping us win work.

Why did you choose Mott MacDonald as a company you wanted to be part of?

Having the chance to work for a leading global consultancy drew me in. We have the influence to make positive change for those who need it most, through delivering some of the world’s largest infrastructure projects.

How has your career progressed since joining?

My career path in the business has been focussed on continuous growth and specialisation. Initially, I built a strong foundation by working on diverse projects and gaining hands-on experience in various engineering disciplines. This helped me understand the intricacies of different projects and develop a broad skillset.

As I’ve progressed, I have specialised in specific areas - structural engineering, tunnel engineering and project management. This specialisation has allowed me to become an expert in my field and provide high-quality, tailored solutions to clients.

What have you learnt while working at Mott MacDonald?

In addition to my technical expertise, I have also developed a strong understanding of the consulting business, as well as leadership and management skills.

How do you demonstrate Technical Excellence in your work?

I exhibit professionalism in every facet of my work by engaging in continuous learning, upholding the quality of work according to design standards and honing problem-solving skills. Technical Excellence interlinks with much of my daily work and includes collaborating effectively with others and adhering to ethical practices.

How do you contribute to Mott MacDonald making a difference to people and planet?

I focus on delivering projects that have positive social impact. This means designing infrastructure that is inclusive, accessible, and enhances the wellbeing of the communities it serves.

Where in the world has your role taken you?

Indonesia, Singapore and Abu Dhabi

Are you involved in any additional initiatives at Mott MacDonald, aside from your day-to-day role?

I am involved in our Inclusive Network for Women in Asia. Through the network we celebrate numerous events, as well as contribute to and spread awareness of the advancement of gender equality and female empowerment across our Asia business.

This network acts as peer support for women. It’s a platform for colleagues to discuss their interests and help influence organisational policy and practices. It also provides a safe space for people who share a particular characteristic, often connected with equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI).
