Biography
Alan Straus is the East Unit general manager for Mott MacDonald in North America, responsible for providing strategic leadership and delivering Mott MacDonald’s growth ambitions in the eastern half of the United States.
Alan has over 35 years of strategy and growth, operations, business development, and transportation experience. Alan joined Mott MacDonald from AECOM where he had a 25-year career, most recently as senior vice president and chief strategy and growth officer for its East Region where he led a 9,000-person division covering the eastern half of the US, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.
As part of Alan's 11-year career in the public sector, he was assistant division chief, project manager, and project engineer with the Maryland State Highway Administration’s Office of Planning and Preliminary Engineering. Alan’s technical expertise includes leading highway, bridge, toll, transit, freight, marine, and aviation projects. He is an active member and leader for many professional organizations and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Engineering Society of Baltimore.
